Graduation Move
Jun. 14th, 2010 04:46 pmJust a quick announcement. Due to the rain that's been going on, and as an added outreach from the institute to the greater area, graduation has officially been moved from the grounds to the Salem Center. I hope this doesn't inconvenience too many of you, and that the four seniors didn't have their hearts set on it too much. We hope to see you there.
You're Not Crazy...
Apr. 28th, 2010 12:04 pmFor any of you that thought you heard an Irish accent or saw a flash of orange hair in the hallways when we got back from our most recent excursion in India, you're not crazy. Terry was here overnight as a late birthday gift to yours truly. Unfortunately she had to catch a flight back early this morning, but feel relieved that you don't have to make an appointment with your shrink. Well, unless you're already on the way...
About that Snow...
Oct. 7th, 2009 12:41 pmAs some of you have already surmised, the Iceman has made his return to Xavier's.
The snow this morning was a little saying hey to everyone. Sorry about the inconveniences to some of you, I probably should have checked more thoroughly to make sure that there wasn't anyone asleep outside before dumping the powder. But after seeing the reaction ranging all the way from girls running outside in bathing suits to a kid who is bundled up and looking like he's about to lead an expedition to the North Pole, I have to say, it's good to be back.
To those of you new to the mansion since my last tenure, I’d like to say hello, my name is Robert Drake. I’m returning to the mansion after a hiatus spent overseas in Ireland, and will be serving to help around the school due to some of the recent departures. Think of me as the temporary "Super Substitute", sticking my head in and out of some of the classes. Oh, and just in case you guys were thinking about pulling a fast one, I’d just like to warn you that I was a student here for eight years, so I doubt you’ll be able to trick me, but you’re always welcome to try.
And to those of you that remember, I’m back in my old room if you guys would like to catch up, I’d love to see all of you. And before you ask, no Terry is not with me, she’s back in Europe, so I don’t have any cute outfits or shoes to borrow. But I'm sure she'd love to hear from all of you as well.
Other than that, I'm ready for this year to start, and there shouldn't be too many freak blizzards in the future. But, you never know...

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas...
Aug. 22nd, 2006 09:41 pmOkay, so. A few of you already know this, but for everyone else, just a heads up. Terry and I have safely arrived at the Paris hotel, here in lovely LAS VEGAS. We'll be back on Saturday, and the room has wireless (obviously), but as we're both here to actually have fun, I'm hoping not too much time will be spent online. Still, if anyone needs us, email and cell phones are all good.
And Terry's toenails are dry, and she wants to go find pancakes now, so off we go. Don't blow things up while we're gone, huh?

Summer is here!
Jun. 19th, 2006 11:27 pmOkay, I think it's high time we had a midnight ice cream party. It hasn't happened in ages, and there are a bunch of new kids that haven't experienced the JOY of Bobby Draketm ice cream sundaes.
So, ice cream party, in the kitchen, nowish! Everyone is welcome, pajamas are mandatory! Lots of flavors are made, or make a request!
(And I'll clean up any messes, promise.)

Okay, so. As we're getting into summer and these things are important for some of us to know, and as we have a lot of new faces around here since last summer...
What's your favorite ice cream/sherbet/sorbet/frozen treat flavors, guys? There's nothing too weird, believe me. (Right, Kyle?) Also, so I don't have to go stealthing through Lorna's incomprehensible kitchen notes, allergies, food restrictions, stuff like that would be good for me to know. (And I want to know about any allergies, because if you don't think there's a chance there'll be tuna-fish ice cream in the freezer, you haven't met Catseye.)

Season's Greetings from Boston...
Dec. 23rd, 2005 11:05 pmIt's nice seeing my family again (except for my brother, who is in a Mood or something, and is ignoring me completely) but this place just isn't home anymore.
I miss everyone already. But the tree is gorgeous, and holy crap, there's a huge pile of presents under it. And mom's roast chicken was as fantastic as always.
I shouldn't have had three cups of coffee after dinner, though. I don't think I'm going to be sleeping until, like, two. Maybe I'll make a phone call... ;)

Dani, consider this my request for more ice cream ingredients, since I'm gonna use a bunch in a few minutes.
I CANNOT BELIEVE I WAS GONE FOR ONE DAY AND ALL OF THE ICE CREAM I'D MADE GOT EATEN. I live in a house full of food vacuums, man. Seriously.
Sigh. All right. Start making flavor requests. You've got thirty minutes people.
